Adding to that, single-plate vs twin-plate HIUs refers to how heat is exchanged. A single-plate HIU has one heat exchanger, usually simpler and cheaper, but may be slower at delivering hot water during peak demand. Twin-plate HIUs have two plates, so they can provide hot water and heating more efficiently at the same time.
Choosing depends on your building size, hot water demand, and budget. Twin-plate is usually preferred for bigger apartments or multiple bathrooms.
